FOOTBALL.

The second round for the Clarke Cup was begun at Rangitumau on Saturday last, when the home team secured a victoiy over the combined Kopuaranga—Mauriceville team by the narrow margin of one point, the scores being—Rangitumau 9, Combined Team 8. For the winners N. Chamberlain scored two tries, and W. Darvill kicked a penalty goal, while for the losers Douglas and Ball scored tries, one of which was converted by the former. Mr W. Harding was referee.
