TO THE SOUTH POLE.

ANOTHER EXPEDITION PROPOSED.

DR BRUCE PREPARING. United Press Association-By Electric Telegraph Copyright. Received September 26, 5.5 p m. LONDON, September 25. Doctor Bruce is preparing a Scottish expedition to the South Pole If £50,000 is forthcoming he will start betore 1911. The expedition will consist of 36 persons, including six scientists. They will carry equipment for 3,000 fathoms. A wintering station will be established on the coast land, from whence a dash across the continent will be made, finally emerging in Ross Sea. Dr Bruce's theory regarding the mountain ranges suggests that the easy going of this route will pensate for the greater distance as compared with Captain Scott's and Lieutenant Shackleton's expeditions.
