(Prom Our Resident Reporter). \ Friday. This morning'? supply of milk, at the Parkvale Dairy Factory was 1,600 gallons. Rev. C. Eaton, who was at one time Methodist Minister in Carterton , will conduct the children's service at the anniversary of the Sunday School on December 12th. Sheep worrying by dogs has occurred here, and it has been suggested that the County and Borough Council, should enforce a dog tax, which would be the means of doing away with a number of useless animals. Yesterday Mr W. Howard Booth found a fine hogget on Jm farm, which had Been badly worried by a dog, and had to be destroyed. The following, culled from an English paper, of recent date, should be interesting to many here, as the suc- ! cessful scholar is a nephew of Mr W. !J. Lindop, of this town: —"Master Kennath Lindop, son of Mr F. Lindop, manager of Lloyd's Bank,- has won the Wakeman Scholarship at St. Oswald's College. The scholarship is worth JB3O a year, and entitles the winner to go to Henstone College for three years. Master Lindop obtained 535 points out of a possible 700 in arithmetic, Latin, History. Geography, French, * Divinity and English. The next to him was Master Fa vies, who obtained 427 out of the 700. Master Lindop is only elev en eyars old, and has been at St. Oswald's [College] three years. This achievement is certainty a remarkably clever one."
