FARMERS' MEAT WORKS.
THE QUESTION OF SITE. WAINGAWA v WOODSIDE. The directors of the Wellington Farmers' Co-operation Meat Company, in deciding upon the site to be recommended to the meeting of shareholders selected the Waingawa site as against Woqdside for the following reasons :• 1. Most of the roads of the Wairarapa converge on Masterton, and therefore a much larger quantity of stock- can be delivered on the hoof to Waingawa than Woodside. 2. A considerably larger amount of share capital can be placed if the works are at Waingawa as compared with any otlwr centre. 3. Masterton is a leading centre of the Wairarapa, and offers better facilities of housing of workmen, and for the repairing of machinery. 4. Masterton affords the best market for a ready sale of rejects and small goods. It may not be generally Known that the "greatest candlemaking establishment in the world is in England.
