Bates' weather forecast:—Southerly Winds strong to gate are probable Generally with cold and damp weather \ Rain is probable everywhere andlnow on the high levels. The 'banwfeter is expected to rise everywhere. The lowest pressure passed the Bluff at 5 a ' m - and since then increasing southerly winds'have prevailed. _____ Mr J. C. Boddington reports that the rainfal registered at the Upper Plain for the 24 hours preceding 9 a.m. on Tuesday was 5 points.
