SALVAGE OPERATIONS ABANDONED.
Received September 20, 8.45 a.m. LONDON, September 19. The Admiralty has abandoned salvage operations at the submarine Cll, which was sunk in a collision off Yarmouth on July 15th.
The submarines Oil and C 17, which were proceeding to the naval manoeuvres in the Thames, came into collision with a passing steamer off Yarmouth, with the result that C 17 was seriously damaged and C 11 sunk with the loss of twelve lives,
