Armstrong, of High Street, Carterton*, who has been in indifferent for the past few weeks, writes our correspondent, will be pleased to hear that she is now well on the to id to> convalescence, and able to take outdoor exercise. , The sympathy nf the cummmitp will be extended to Mr George Allen,, of Taratahi, who on Saturday morning suffered a bereavement by the: death of his wife, writes our Carterton correspondent. The late Mrs Allen had been in ill health for some time, heart disease being the ultimate cause of death. At the annual social the supDiiersrto the Rongokokako Cheese Factory; on Thursday evening last, Mr.J. A. Daysb, who had resigned' from theDirectorate, was presented with a large easy chair as a mark of esteem. Mr W. Elliott, in making the presentation, on behalf of the' suppliers, said that Mr Daysh had* been one of tne promoters of the; Company, and its biggest supplier; Mr Daysh acknowledged the presentation in suitable terms. The Management Committee of the Wairarapa Rugby Union held its final meeting for the year oii Saturday evening last, when votes of thanks were passed to the Chairman (Mr A. B. Charters) and Secretary (Mr J. M. Nichnlls) for services rendered. Mr Charters is, deserving of a special word of" praise for the able manner in which, as . Chairman, he conducted • thebusiness of the Union; his tact, judgment and keen business abilitybeing of the utmost value to the Union during the trying period! through which it has passed thisyear.
