TRENTHAM RIFLE MEETING.
By Telegraph—rress Association., WELINGTON, September 19. The Dominion Rifle Association's Championship Meeting is fixed for Thursday, March 3rd, and will finish on Friday, March 31th. If arrangements can be made with the Defence and Education authorities a "boys'" Bisley" will be held on Saturday, March 12th. The prize money is increased to* £1,550. All grades of competitors are catered for in a liberal manner, whilst the entry fees have been kept down to the lowest possible point. The total cost of entries for individual matches is £2 ]2s, ammunition and sighting shots* being free. The championship a series consists of five matches, of 115 prizes in each match, value £125, and a match for k the final fifty,, of fiftyprizes of the value of £223, tq> gether with rifle champion belt, gold medal and 25 Association badges, the total cash prizes in this series being £B4B, and the number of prizes 625. The highest aggregate scorer in matches one to five will receive a new rifle. In the service match series there are six matches, of £45 tn £55 prizes in each, and the service championship of £2O, the total value of 298 cash prizes being £3BO. The teams' matches, which are open to teams of six men from any unit in force, comprise six matches,,with ai total cash prize list of £134, including the champion shield, Colonial Ammunition Company's £7O cup and several other trophies. Of the 'extra and special matches there are six, and in addition to several trophies, there 'is £2CO allotted for awards. A rifle will be given to highest scorer in the united service match, and a volunteer and rifle club special match will be competed for at service targets. Entries close on February 10th and are subject to a charge of 10 per cent, after that date.
