TASMANIAN BUDGET.
A DEFICIT. HOBART, September.l 7. In-the State Assembly the Premier, Sir Elliott Lewis, delivered the Financial Statement. The Premier estimated that at the end of the year there would be a deficiency of £60,218, making with the previous year's deficiency a tota I of .£123,000. He'proposed to impose a super-tax of one fourth of the land tax, income tax, and ability tax. It was anticipated that the financial stress would be much relieved under the new per capital revenuefrom the Commonwealth.
