ST MATTHEWfS CLUB.

The annual meeting of St. Matthew's Cricket Club was held last evening. Rev. W. Raine presiding over a large attendance of members. The annual report, which showed the Club to have had a su?c?ssful sea • son, was read and adopted. The following officers were appointed for the ensuing year:—Patron, Kev. li. Watson; President, Rev. W, Raine; Vice Presidents, Messr W. B Cliennells, A. H.Wrightson, W. 11. L. Galwey, W. H. Jackson and J. L.. Murray; Captain, Mr F. Phillips; vice-Captain, Mr V. Sutton; Secretary, Mr J. Berry; Treasurer, Mr C. Cold; Selection Committee, Messrs Phillip?, Berry and Sultotf; Scorer. Mr P. Bennett; Management Committer, Rev. W. Raine, Messrs L. Boyd, F. Phillips, C. Cole, V.. Sutton, J. Berry and B. Iveson; Delegates to Wairarapa Cricket Association, Messrs Phillips and Berry. It was deeded that the subscription should be ss, ana . that the Management Committee draw up a set of rules.

Judging from the excellant attendance and enthusiasm shown by members at the meeting of St. Matthew's Cricket Club, last evening, there is every prospect of the Club having a very prosperous season. The members are fortunate in having two such gentlemen as Rev. H. Watson and Rev. W. Raine to take a keen interest in -their welfare, and under the able guidance of, these gentlemen the Club should go ahead by leaps and bounds. The hearty vote of thanks that was accorded to Kev. Raine for presiding at last night's meeting testified to the popularity of that, gentleman, and in a small way showed the members' appreciation of Mr Raine's .kindness in taking the chair.
