PAHIATUA NEWS.

(From Oar Resident Reporter).

Tuesday. Pahiatua for the past few days has been very quiet, the only relief to the general dullness was a picture show which exhibited here last night, and despite the surfeit there has been of these kinds of entertainment a and appreciative audience greeted the "Dominion Pictures" in the Olypmic Theatre. The weather seems to have taken a change and looks and feels like blowing up for a storm. A cold southeasterly wind is blowing, while ominous looking clouds have steadily been banking up all day. The New Zealand Loan and Mer cantile Agency Co. report on their weekly sale as follows:—Sheep did not come forward up to the numbers advertised, and were confined to wethers only, but there was a full yarding of cattle, composed chiefly of dairy cows and heifers with a few pens oi steers. The attendance of buyers was good, but competition was not very keen, and prices throughout showed a slight decline on recent values. We quote as follows: —Wethers up to 13s. Cattle: Twoyear steers, £3 15s to £4; empty cows, £2 7s to £2 10s; dairy heifers £2 15s to £4 ss; yearlings, 30s to 355; bulls, 3l)s to 45*. ; Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Pahiatua sale today as follows:—We had a fair yaroing.ot sheep and cattle.
