M. Cochery, French Minister of Finance, has introduced into the Chamber of Deputies the Budget for 1910.

The Minister proposes to meet the deficit, which amounts to eight mil lions sterling, by an increase of two and a half millions in the tobacco duty, a million and a-half increase on wine, brandy, and absinthe, and a million and a half increase on legacy duty. There will also be taxes on motor caw, petrol and receipt stamps.
