A WELL-KNOWN ACTOR. Received September 13, 1.15 a.m. SYDNEY, September 12. The death occurred to-day o£ Mr Harry Shine, the well-known actor. PREVENTION OP "BEAR" RAIDS. BIG MONEY COMBINE. Received September 12/ 5.30 p.m. NEW YORK, September 12.
The big money interests in New York, including J. D. Rockefeller, Morgan, and tho First National Bank, have combined to prevent "Bear" raids. The combination continues until it is certain that the late Mr Harriman's interests are in safe and capable hands. It is reported that the combination has guaranteed five millions sterling for the purpose of supporting the market.
