NEW ZEALAND CHAMPIONSHIP MEETING.

The New Zealand Golf Champion • .ship Meeting, which will commence at Cornwall Park Linke, to-morrow, promises to prove highly successful The fine weather of the past week has improved the links, which are now in excellent condition Almost six hundred entries have been received from considerably over 100 competitors. The entries for the principal events are Amateur Championship, 80; Open Championship, 66j Foursome Bogey, 100; Bogey Handicap, 92; Medal Handicap, 86; Driving Competition, 7.2; Approaching and Putting Competition, 72. The Professional Match has attracted six eptries, which includes the leading players of the Dominion, Clements, of Wanganui, the present open champion of New Zealand, being one of the number. The competitors for the amateur and open championships include H C. Smith, of Dunedin, the present champion of New Zealand, and A C- Duncan, of Wellington, an ex-champion.
