THE WELLINGTON FARMERS' FREEZING WORKS.

To the Editor. Sir, —There is one item I overlooked in my letter of yesterday in dealing with Masterton's output of "fats," and that is, in addition to about 60,000 which are trucked at Mauriceville there is a considerable number, probably 10,000 or 12,000, from the northern part of the district driven over the PuKetois and trucked at Pahiatua for Napier. Having considerable former experience in the transit of c.i.f. meat by rail from the first, 1 was certain that an inland site would be chosen in the end, and 1 was firat attracted to the Waingawa site through the fact of Mr Buchanan, who I cruisider one of the longest-headed business men in the Wairarapa, having procured a block of laud there for that purpose, on behalf of the Meat Export Company, and his wisdom has been proved by the large number of shsep which they track from there. As the site question will probably be settled to-morruw and correspondence on the matter ended, in concluding, I wish to tender my best wishes to the other correspondents, especially "Mr Resident," who made such a plucky fia;ht, and also to you, Sir, for the space which you so generously supplied, and your kind comments in to-day's issue on my past endeavours.—l am, etc., OBSERVER. I Masterton, September 9th., 1909.
