RAILWAY FACILITIES.
A correeponde/it in to-day's issue refers to railway questions of considerable importance. In the matter of railway facilities the public of the Wairarapa have displayed inter ■ est from time to time, but nothing of a very substantial character has ever resulted therefrom. He links his letter with freezing works, and for our part, we should be well pleased for the time being if the freezing works project is carried thr. ,r igh in a vigorous manner. But tho public spirit that is'now fairly arc.ised to make Masterton progress if it is possible to do so, shou.d not rest content with a single effort. There are railway propositions which, if brought in*,o tangible form, would be of enormous advantage to the district as a whole. Closer settlement is also a question that a town peopled with watchful, progressive and energetic citizens should ever keep before their eyes. When the preHent movement is over we hope that other projects of benefit to Masterton will be advanced, and that no stone will be left unturned to develop "the capital of the Wairarapa."
