In view of the coming passenger season, the Union Compnay's turbine steamer Maheno, which has been laid up at Port Chalmers for the last four or five months undergoing a complete overhaul, will leave on October sth for Auckland to take up the running between Auckland and Sydney in place of the Mokoia. The Waikare, which has also been laid up, will be put into commission on October 19th to maintain the service between Uunedin and Auckland, connecting with the Maheno.
