METHODIST SUNDAY SCHOOL.
The monthly meeting of the Methodist Sunday School teachers and officers was held in the Schoolroom this week. There were present:—Rev. 0. E. Porter (chairman), Mesrss 0. Pragnell, T. Mannell, P. Church, Missea Church, Donald and Heyhoe, and the secretary, Mr R. J. Mclver. The secretary reported as follows: —Teachers and officers on roll 23; scholars 295—an increase of 4 scholars during the month. On the motion of Mr 0. Pragnell it was decided that the Rev. Porter and the secretary be appointed a committee to ask Miss W. Daniell to take Mr C. Beale's class of boys, and to appoint a teacher for Miss Daniell's present class. It was resolved to hold the Sunday School Anniversary on November 7th and Bth. On the motion of Mr Mannell it was decided that the Rev. Porter should conduct all the anniversary services. It was also decided to engage the Town Hall for the occasion. Mr Mannell moved that the Rev. Poreti- should conduct a special dedication service on Sunday afternoon, September 19th, for the opening of the new infant room, and that the rest of the bunday School should join in the service, which will be held in the church, and that a collection be taken up in aid of the building fund. Also that the secretary should notify parents by circular. —The motion was carried. It was decided to hold a tea meeting on September 23rd, and Misses Church, Donald and Heyhoe, witn Mr Mannell as convenor, were appointed a committee to make all arrangements. . Rev. Porter. Mr C. E. Daniell, Mr T. Mannell and the secretary wr 1 appointed, a committee to draw up a programme for the evening. It was decided to call a special meeting on Septembsr 15th.
