United Press association—By Electric Telegraph

Copyright. Received September 2, 8.30 a.m NEW YORK, September 1.

An explosion on the railway line at Lewiston Narrows, in Pennsylvania, brought the express to a stop.

A masked man climbed on to the train and intimidated the officials into delivering one thousand pounds sterling in bullion, and another bag filled with cents, compelled them to carry the bags up a mountain, and then dismissed them.

Subsequently the bag containing the thousand pounds was recovered. The highwayman had been unable to carry both bags, and had dropped the wrong one.
