METEOROLOGICAL.
By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, September 2. The following is Rev. D. C. Bates' -weather forecast:—Strong southerly winds are probable everywhere with cold, showery and (Changeable weather. The barometer is now rising steadly everywhere, and more settled weather is expected to follow generally until about the Bth.
Mr J. C. Boddington reports that the rainfall registered at the Upper Plain for tne 24 hours preceding 9 a.m. on Thursday was' 76 points. Mr H. G. Groves, of Bush Grove, reports as follows:—The rainfall for the month was '6.25 inches, and the maximum fall was 3;ooiinches on the first. Rain fell oh )6 days. The maxi- ' mum temperature was 68 on the 26th, and the minimum temperature 24 on the 12th. The rainfall for . August, 1908, was 2.61 inches.
