MISSING WARATAH.

Received September 1, 10 a.m. MELBOURNE, September 1. A deputation of business men asked the Federal Government to take immediate action with respect to the search for the missing liner Waratah. The deputation suggested the despatch of one or two vessels. The Minister for Customs expressed sympathy with the proposal, and promised that Cabinet would consider it to-day. Received September 2, 12.40 a.m. MELBOURNE, September 1. The German steamer Gosler from Port Elizabeth saw no traces of the Waratah. ■
