IHURAUA NOTES.
(From Our Own Correspondent). The winter here has been exeptionaliy mild, there being only really one short cold period oi southerly weather. The spring so far is also very mild, although the other week we had a slight fall of snow, but it did not last long, fortunately for the young lambs that were about. On account of the mild season the stock are looking very well indeed. During the winter months there have been quite a number of socials and dances held here. Last month a ball given by the bachelors of the valley was a decided success, but the ladies return held on the 27th fairly eclipsed it. It was the largest gathering held in the valley for some considerable time. A concert is to be held in aid of the school library fund on the 3rd of next month, and judging by the enthusiasm being displayed promises to be a decided success.
