MASTERTON COUNTY. 70TICE is hereby given of the intention of the Masterton County Council, at a meeting to be held on the 14th day of September, 1909, under the provisions of sections 117 to 139 of "The Counties Act, ■ 1908." to make the following rates for the year, coinmtnced on the first day of April, 1909, and ending on the 31st day of March, 1910, upon the rateable value of all rateable property within the County, as appearj ing on the Valuation Roll in force I for the said period. < i Riding of OpakL—A general rate of one-half penny in the pound. Riding of Rarigitumua.—A general f rate of five-eighths of a penny in the pound. , Riding of Upper Taueru.—A general rate of three-farthings in the pound. Riding of Te Whiti, — A general rate of one half-penny in the pound. Riding of Wainuioru.—A general ' rate of three-farthincs in the pound. Riding of Alfredton.—A genera) rate of three-farthings and a separate rate of nine sixteenths of a penny in the pound. RULES AND REGULATIONS, Penalties.—Plat Race 3 : The winuei o any Hat race after declaration of,weights to carry a penalty of 71b, and of any additional race or races a farther penalty of 51b. Hurdles: The winner of any hurdle race after the declaration of weights to carry a penalty of 101b, and for any additional hurdle race 71b extra. Definition A i Hack.—A Hack is a horse that has not won a race of the value of 100 sovs, or races of the collective value of 250 sovs, up to the date of nomination.
