MASTERTON'S CHANCE.
To the Editor. Sir,—You are deserving of the best thanks of the community for your vigorous treatment of the question of having the Farmers' Meat Works erected in the vicinity of Masterton, ! and the duties of the residents in re- i spect thereto. It is pleasing to hear that the suggestions thrown out by you have been acted upon, and with results said to be quite satisfactory. I believe that your straightout treatment of this matter, which is of supreme importance to Masterton, will repult i.-: the works being erected adjacent to the town. As the question of site is a vital one, however, I would suggest that the services of Mr Geo. Leadley, of Ashburton. who is admittedly an authority on freezing works, and a man of wide experience, should be secured in determining the question : ot site. His opinion would be given • without ptejudice, and in the interests of the success of the company ; only. Mr Leadley might also be '. prevailed upon to address a meeting , of farmers whilst in this district, i and the valuableinformation he could import would doubtless be appre- ! ciated at this juncture.-—I am, etc., J. H. PAULING.
