THE POLITICAL OUTLOOK.

Labour has co«»wletely dissevered itself from the joverr - ment, and, taking a leaf i i\>m the Commonwealth bojk, is a jout to form a third party, in the Jouse of Representatives. The p rty that Mr Ballance introduced to the Treasury Benches have had a ions; lease of power, and have been a continuous Ministry in every acceptation of the term. Tha retention of the sympathy and support of a large majority of the people for eighteen ysars is something phenomenal in the history of party government in these colonies; but the longest lane has a turning, and we believe, says the "North Otago Times," with Mr James Allen, that the Government's day is done.
