MASTERTON WOOL SKIN, AND HIDE SALES.

Messrs Levin and Co. report as follows:—We held our monthly sale of wool, skins, hides and tallow yesterday, when we offered 25 bales 1 of wool, 70 bags of wool, 1,400 sheep I skins, and 130 hides. There was the usual good attendance of buyers, and bidding througnout was very spirited. Wool.—Crutchings are still coming forward, but the quality is not so good as the earliest offering. We quote.—Crossbred fleece, 5d to 7d; lambs' wool, 6d to 7d; superior crutchings, 4§d to 5Jd; medium crutchings, 4d to 4gd; inferior crutchings, 3d to 4d; locks and pieces, 2d to 3Jd. Skins. —Market strong at full rate. Fine crossbred, 7d to 7|d; crossbred, 6'dto7d; dead skins, 4d to 5Jd; dead hoggets, 4d to 5Jd; short wools, 3d to 4Jd; green skins, up to 5s Bd. Tall wo.—Shipping lots £23, tins 18s to 20s 9d, rough fat 8s to 10s. Hides.—Medium ox and cow hides, 4Jd to 5Jd; inferior, 3d to 4Jd; calfskins, up to BJd. Horsehair.--Is 2d per lb. Our next sale will be held on October . 6th, 1909. The Wairarapa Farmers' Cooperative Association, Limited, and Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd,, report as follows:—We held our monthly sale of wool, skins and hides yesterI day, offering 20 bales, 40 bags of \ wool, 900 sheepskins, and 250 hides, ' and a quantity of tallow. Skin*. —Crossbred fine, 7£d; crossbred s£d, 6Jd; crossbred pt damp 3a 7d to 5s 5d each; hoggets, 4s4|d; double deckers, 4d; dead damp, each 3s 7d; dead, 4s 4Jd; lambs, 4£d. Hides. —Cow, 4Jd to s|d; cow slippy, 4£d to 4Jd; cow cut and slippy, 4fd; ox, s,id; ox slippy, 3£d; ox cut and slippy, 3§d; , yearlings, 4Jd; calf, Bgd; calf cut sd: calf cut and slippy, 4Jd; ctilf, 7|d. Tallow. —Rough, 14s 3d per cwt.; tallow in tins, 20s 3d p?r cwt. Our next sale will be held on October Sth, 1909.
