The returns of the Naval expenditure of the principal Powers show that while Britain's total is 35 millions sterling as compared with Germany's 19£ millions, United States' 281 millions, the [total amount voted for new construction'by Germany, namely, £10,751,000, exceeds that of Britain by half a million, while the United States amount is £lO,015,000.
