CARTERTON NEWS.

(From Our Resident Reporter). Tuesday. The annual horse parade of the P. and A Society 13 to be held here on September 18th. Mr James Stevens, of Wellington, and formerly of Carterton, was a visitor to Carterton to-day. A sale of work is being organised in aid of the funds of St. Andrew's Church, and will take place on September 30th and October Ist. Last evening the quarterly meeting of Totara Lodge, U.A.0.D., was held in the Foresters' Hall, Bro. E. Wallis, A.D., presiding. Correspondence was read from a brother ill in Wanganni, and als from one brother declaring off the sick fund. A new member was initiated, and notice was given that the Lodge would play the Foresters' the third match of the Friendly Societies' card tournament on Monday evening next. Receipts for the meeting amounted to £64 18s 3d, and disbursements £25 13s 4d.
