DISSOLUTION GRANTED.

Received August 24, 9.10 p.m. BRISBANE, August 24. After conferring with the Lieuten-ant-Governor, Mr Kidston announced to the Assembly that he had asked for and had been granted a dissolution. Received August 25, 12.40 a.m. BRISBANE, August 24. Mr Kidston stated that the Government had not taken action in regard to a dissolution earlier because it was vital that the State should be represented at the Premiers" Conference. The House had outlived its usefulness, and it was high time the country had an opportunity of sending in one party or the other. The Lieut-Governor had accepted his advice to dissolve Parliament, provided the House granted Supply. He gave notice of motion for the following day to permit of the passage of the Appropriation Bill in all its stages. Mr Bowman defended the rights uf his Party to move a want of confidence motion. He would refuse Supply. A motion to adjourn the House was carried by 36 votes to 35.
