LADIES' CHAMPIONSHIP.

By Telegraph—Press Association. • PALMERSTON N., August 21. The Ladies' Golf Championship ' meeting was continued to-day in fine i weather. There were two surprises during the afternoon, Miss A. Humphries beating Mrs Guy Williams and Miss Cowper defeating Miss Christie (last year's champion). * Shying in the Bogey ivlatch in the afternoon, Mrs Williams repeated her feat of the previous day by doing the round in eighty-nine. , i Play in the championship result,eel as follows :—Miss Hannay beat Miss Symes, one up; Miss Cowper beat Miss Christie, four up and two to i play; Miss L. Brandon heat Miss Braithwaite, three up and two to play; Miss Stephenson beat Miss Beatson, seven up and six to play; Miss B. Wood beat Miss Wilson, two up; Mrs Bevan beat Mis 3 Hamlin,' one up; Miss A. Humphries beat Mrs Williams, three up and one to play; Mrs Gould beat Mrs Turnbull, four up and two to play. The Bogey Match resulted as follows:—Miss Brewster (New Ply* mouth), bandit?aplß, two up; Miss S. Gorrie, handicap 10, all square; Mrs Guy Williams, handicap 5, two down.
