TRAINS IN COLLISION.

By Telegraph—Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Aagust 21. A collision occurred at the Kaiapoi Railway Station, at 6 o'clock, this evening, near the south watertank. The express from Culverden, consisting of an engine and nine vehicles, were standing at th« platform, and the train from Christchurch instead of going to to the loop line at the points came on to the main line, and ran into the standing train, forcing it a distance of six yards, and damaging the cowcatcher. The passengers were very much shaken, hut no one was seriously injured. After removing the cowcatcher from the express and making a thorough examination, the I two trains went on, being half an hour late. The cause of the acciden } is supposed to have been a stone | getting into the points.
