In connection with their Palmerston North wool, skin, hide and tallow sale, yesterday, Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report as follows: We submitted a good catalogue to a large attendance of buyers. The prices realised for wool and skins were better than the last sale, owing chiefly to the presence of several new buyers. Hides were keenly sought after, and prices compare favourably with late rates. The whole of the offering was sold under the hammer. We quote:—Wool: Crutchings, 4d to 4£d, to sd; dead and black, 41d, s£d to s|d; k crossbred, s|d, 6d, to 6Jd; locks and pieces, 2|d to 3£d. Skin*: We offered 2,000 skins and pelts, and the competition for them as mentioned was very keen.
