SMALL FIRES AT GISBORNE.
By Telegraph—Press Association. GISbORNE, August 19. There have been severalsmall fires this week. A housej owned by Mr Alexander Gibson,fat Te Arai. was destroyed. It was in3ur«d in the Victoria Office for £175. Thomas* store and dwelling at Patutahi was burned the same night. The insurances are £llO in the .State Office, and £450 in |the Commercial Union. A huuse owned by the Seivwrighfc Estate, and occupied [by Mr Pitcher, was the next to go. It vas insured for £l5O in the State .'Office, and £125 in the Sun. It was followed last night by a house owned by the Kere Kere Estate, and occupied by Maoris. The insurance in this instar.ee was £SOO in the Guardian Office.
