The match of the Australian cricketers against Gloucestershire was continued to-day at Cheltenham, A downpour of rain caused delay, and a start was not made till after luncheon. The pitch was slow and easy. The County innings was declared closed at their overnight score—4ll for eight wickets. The Australians began their second innings with Hcrtigan and Bardsley. The first wicket went at 26, Hartigan, after getting 13 rpns, sending an easy catch to Board at mld-off.

Bardsley and Ransford were associated. Both played free cricket, and the century was hoisted in 77 minutes. Bardsley's half-century 'took 95 minutes. When he had made 66 he was taken low down at slip. He stayed at the wickets a little over two hours, showing, good all-round play, his hits including five fours. His partnership with Ransford had lasted an hour and a-half. Two for 100.

The second century appeared after 135 minutes' play. Ransford was brilliant all round, being especially fine in cutting and driving. He made 50 in 55 minutes and put up his century in 100 minutes. He gave a chance to Brownlee off Roberts when he was 57. Altogether he was 130 minutes at the wickets, and he got 13 fourers. Three for 220.

Excepting Gregory, who was careful, Dennett made short work of the others. The fourth wicket fell at 224, the fifth at 230, the sixth at 233, and the seventh at 238. Hopkins and Whitty were both taken in the slips. With eight wickets down for 247 time was called, and the match was drawn.
