WELLINGTON SUPREME COURT.
By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, August 19. At the Supreme Court the jury failed to agree in the case in which Peter Williamson Tait was charged with assault. CHRISTCHURCH, August 19. In the Supreme Court, to-3ay, Patrick Arthur and James Dalton pleaded not guitty to conspiracy "with one "Snowy" Sincock to defraud Henry Uru. The men 1 had played the threecard trick, Uru losing £lB, including a cheque for £7, which Dalton subsequently presented at the bank. A warrant was issued for Sincock, but he had disappeared. After hearing evidence at length, the jury frund both prisoners guilty. The judge, considering that he had be. n three months in gaol already, ordered Arthurito stand down, but aent Dalton to gaol for nine months. DUNEDIN, August 19.
At the Supreme Court, Frederick Matthews was foud guilty on a charge of receiving stolen goods.
