Received Auaust 19, 10.10 a.m. SYDNEY, August 19.

Ihe report of the Inspector-Gen-eral of Insane shows that at the end of last year 5.705 insane persons were under official supervision in the State—an increase of 98. The cost of maintenance was £165,427.

The proportion of increase to the general public is one to 281.
