BAD CHARACTERS.
By Telegraph—Press Association. AUCKLAND, August 19. George Thomas Hutton and John iHolmes, two young men, were each sentenced at the Police Court to a year's imprisonment with hard labour. The police stated that the men •belonged to a numerous and growing • class which robbed and assaulted 'drunken men. The magistrate aaid ihe was determined to assist the ■police in ridding the town of such characters.
