THE FINANCE BILL. MR ASQUITH SATISFIED WITH PROGRESS MADE. Received August 18, 10.10 p.m. LONDON, August 18. Mr Asquith states that he is well satisfied fwith the progress of the Finance Bill owing to the winnowing powers enabling the Chairman of the Comtnittee to shear away pages of amendments. Mr Asquith will assume charge of the Bill when the Licensing clause is reached."
