POTATO DISEASE.
SPREADING IN AUSTRALIAN STATES. Received August 18, 11.5 a.m. SYDNEY, August 18. The State Assembly discussed the potato disease. Members urged the Minister to take drastic action to prevent spread of the blight, and the Minister promised to do so. ADELAIDE], August 19. Irish blight has been discovered in this State, but so far as is known only a limited area is affected. MELBOURNE.. August 18.. The Inter-State Conference of Ministers for Argiculture has opened The chief subject of discussion is potato and fruit diseases, and the framing of legislation to deal therewith.
