MASTERTON FIRE BRIGADE.
| ANNUAL SOCIAL AND DANCE?, Despite, the inclemency of th&i A weather last evening there was an.; attendance of between 70 or 80couples at the Masterton Fire Bri-- v gades' social and dance in the Drill <; Hall. Excellent music was supplied ;""*£ by Mr Eeihana Boyes' orchestra,. ; consisting of Mr R. Boyes (violin),', MrR. Mcintosh (piano), and Mr G. . Gray (cornet). Extras were played* by Miss L. Gough, Master Gough ' (violin), Mrs E. G. McEwen, and i Mr P. McKenzie (2). The men's committee had the Hall tastefully decorated, while Mr J. Arthur had the floor in splendid order for dancing. Messrs J. Johnston, J. Thompson. 1 B. Braggins and E. G. McEwen made very capable M.'eC. A great deal of the success, ot .the dance was j due to the combined committee--j Messrs E. and T. Jenkins, E. Pragnell, E.G. McEwen. J. Thompson, \ B. Braggins, .1. Johnhson, p. Cole, * and J. Arthur, and Mesdames Day' O'Connor, B. Braggins, T. Fielding" E. Pragnell, B. Gardner, E. G. McEwen, Stewart, E. Jenkins, and T. Jenkins, and Miss McEwen. The committee desire to thank the public very heartily for the very liberal manner in which they responded to the canvass for rtfreshments. Messrs E. Pragnell and E. G. McEwen, the secretaries, carried out their duties in a capable manner, and were most. energetic and obliging officials. The piano was kindly lent by the Dresden . I iano Co. \
