TURF NOTES. (By "Zetland). The nominations received for the 'Wairarapa Hunt Club meeting may be considered decidedly satisfactory. With ninety-six entries for seven events, the gathering is su-e to be a most successful ore, and the response of owners and trainers is a tribute to the Hunt Club, which deserves credit by reason of providing the public with a day's good sport at a season of the year when it will be duly appreciated. A satisfactory point in connection with the entries is the fact of class being exceptionally well represented. With performers such as No Trumps, Lucretius, . Leahora, Tyrannic. Sealer, Royal Maid, Swallow, and Matira among the flat races; and jumpers including Otus, Indian Mutiny, Moonlight, Kuranui,. taking part iu afternoon's racing should be well worth witnessing, and the eport- ' in* public may rely upon the majority of the contests being well fought out. The general arrangements in connection with th 9 meetingn are in capable hands, and bookmakers to be licensed by the Club will supply the want created by the investing public.
