The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report as follows:—Buyers were in full attendance at Friday's sale when we submitted a fair sized catalogue. There was keen competition for wool, all sound pelted akins and hides at prices slightly in advance of last sales rates. Faulty skins met o 'with on y poor competition, and it is regrettable to note the numbers of rateaten, torn and neglected skins which are sent into the market resulting in serious losses to the farmers during the course of a year. We would urge all owners to take greater, care of their sheepskins. All that is required to save a skin properly is to hang it lengthways on a rail ut-.der cover with plenty of air until it becomes dry, and then pack it away out of reach of vermin until convenient to send to the market.
