ANNUAL MEETING. J The annual meeting of share-, i holders ot the Master ton Co-operative j ( Dairy Company, Ltd., was held on ■ j Saturday afternoon. There Was a i good attendance, representatives j being present from Nikau, Rangi- J ] tumau, and Masterton, and the chair ' ( was occupied by Mr J. C. Ewington. The annual report was read as follows:-- i "Your Directors report that the ' quantity ot" butter fat received during ] last season was slightly below the previous years, and much iess than ] the capacity of the factory, or than ] might reasonably be expected in such a good dairy farming district as ours. Negotiations are in pro- ' gress which w.ll, it is confidently expecter 1 , enable your Directors to ' extend and consolidate the business of the Company with satisfaction to the shareholders and all narties concerned. With a view to making the money now paid annually for interest available for distribution amongst the shareholders, your dir- ; ectors are establishing a sinking fund which will be added to yearly until the present mortgage is re- ' deemed. You will be pleased to know that although less butter-fat was handled the quantity of butter manfactured wras greater than the previous year, and the grade was well maintuned, which is very creditable to ojr.capable manager, Mr Windle, and lesuliecl in a cash price to suppliers averaging a fraction over lOd for the season. Butter fat received, 120,29£ lb 1 .; butter manufactured, , 137,594).b5; over-run, 14.36. The retiring Directors, in accordance with the rules, are Messrs W. H. Buick, ". Kijestrup, and H. Holmes, who re eligible for re-election." The chairman, in moving the adption of the report and balance beet, referred to the satisfactory ] lositiun disclosed on the year's work, nd he also paid a tribute to thi nanager ot' the factory, Mr Windle, or the able and efficient manner in vhich he had carried out his duties, deferring to the disposal of the Manjamair*! creamery, he said that it lad been eected on terms satisfactory :o both parties. The small loss of suppliers would be more than comDensated or by the increase in the Mastarton district. The question of zo\d storage had been under the :onsidemtion of the directors of their company or some time, and it was the general opinion that the cold 3torage ehoul 1 be installed at the factory. Tha suggested amalgamation with th 3 Mauriceville Dairy Company was an important one. Negotiations were under way in the matter to havs a conference between the directors of the two cornpanes with a view to arriving at a basis of amalgamation. Mr J. K'jwstrup seconded the adoption of the report and balance sheet, which was carried unanimously. Or. the motion of the chairman, seconded by Mr Kibblewhite, a bonus of £lO was voted to Mr Windle, the manager. The retiring directors, Messrs W. H. buick, J. K'jestrup, and H. Holmes, were all re-elected to the position for another twelve months. .Mr A. Hathaway was re-elected auditor. A hearty vote of thanks was passed ito the directors, the secretary (Mr j R. Brown) and staff.
