BREACH OF PRIVILEGE.
THE HIGH PEAK ELECTION. Received August 13. 8 25 a.m. LONDON, August 12. With reference to the House of Commons resolution declaring t the Duke of Norfolk was guilty of a breach of privilege in regard to the High Peak election, the Duke wrote stating that he had not author i-ed the publication of his letter to Mr Profumol If the Committee of Privileges desired his presence, added his Grace, he presumed application must be made to the House of Lords. The Commons Committee's decision in the matter has been adjourned.
On the 21st ult. the House of Commons resolved that the Duke of Norfolk was guilty of a breach of privilege in writing to Mr A. Frofumo. Unionist candidate in the byelection for High Peak Division of Derbyshire (where Mr Partington is seeking re-election) in fhe interest of ithe Catholic schools.
