The Canea correspondent of "The Times" reports that the protecting Powers have given an intimation that, unless the Greek flag is lowered in Crete, the island will be reoccupied. This announcement has produced great irritation among the Cretans. They declare that they will all perish rather than lower the flag, which has been nailed to the mast in the Canea fort. weaA CRETE YIELDS TO WISHES OF POWERS. Received August 13, 10.45 p.m. CONSTANTINOPLE, August 1.3. Turkey demands from Greece a more explicit declaration regarding the Cretan position. Crete has intimated its decision to yield to the wishes of the Powers on the flag question, but asks for a short delay in view of local excitement. ,
