METEOROLOGICAL.
Mr J. C. Boddington reports that the rainfall registered at Upper Plain for the 24 hours preceeding 9 a.m. on Sunday was 5 points. There were 12 degrees of frost on Sunday morning, and 12£ degrees on Monday morning. By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON August 9. The f jllowmg is Rev. D. C. Bates' weather forecast: —A decrease in the harometer pressure is now due over the South Island, and westerly t winds increasing and changing to high northerliea are probable everywhere. The days will probably continue fine over the North Island, but rain is probable on the West Coast and Southern districts of the South Island. The conditions will also gradually bceome more unsettled in other parts.
