(From Our Resident Reporter'. Friday. The management of the Methodist Church have just had the Church organ overhauled and a vast improvement has been made. The work was entrusted to Mr. McLeod, L.T.S., of Masterton, and the result of his labour must be indeed gratifying to that gentleman. What with pian ) and organ tuning Mr McLeod is a constant visitor to these parts. Mr W. R. Harkness, the newlyappointed manaser of the Turatahi Dairy Factory, has arrived in Carterton to take up the duties. The local bowling green is looking exceptionally well at the present
time. The annual report of the TeU*atahi Dairy Company reads as follows : "The amount of milk received during the season was 3,635,6661b5, beirg 3,8751bs in excess of the previous year. The butter fat amounted to 144,3941b5, the milk showing a per centage of 3.97, and producing 366,6491bs of cheese, equal to 163 tons, 13cwt, an increase on last season of 24 tons. Each pound of butter fat made 2.5391bs of chee3e, the milk averaging 9.911bs to each pound of cheese. During the season advances were made to milk suppliers at 9d per lb of butter fat, amounting to £5,414 14s 4d, leaving for distribution £2,105 14s 9d, equal to 12.5 d per lb of butter fat over the whole season. We have also made provision fur writing oft 8 per cent, for depreciation of plant and buildings, and the payment of 6 per cant, on the paid up capital. Tho retiring directors by rotation are Messrs R. McLaren, D. Reid and {T. Reid, and they are eligible to offer themselves for re-election. You will be called upon to elect an auditor. —W.
