Mr J .Cj Boddington reports that th 9 rainfall registered at Upper Plain for the 24 hours preceding 9 a.m. on Wednesday was.2 points. Mr H. G. Groves, Bush Grove, reports as follows: The rainfall for the monthof July was 350 points. The maximum fall was .74 points on the 16th. Rain fell on 19 days. Tha maximum temperature was 61deg on the 4th, and the minimum, temperature 26deg on thh 14th. The rainfall j for July, 1908, was 9.97 paint?. By Telegraph—Press Association. I WELLINGTON, August 4. * The following is Rev. D.C. Bates' weather forecast:—Westerly winds, strong to gale, are probable generally with unsettled weather in "all partß and heavy rain in Taranaki and or the West Coast of the South Island. There are indications that i the baromete will rise slowly in the South after a few hours. The conditions are unstable in the far North at preseiit but the change cannot yet be defined, though a fall in pressure is a very liKely contingency.
