Mrs John Pallett, for many years a resident of Crofton, died in the Wnnganui Hospital on Sunday last. Mr A. E. Remington, M.P. is still confined ,to bed at his residence in Wellington, and will not be allowed to transact fcny business for a considerable time tn come. / Great s regret is . felt in Wanganui at the death of Mrs Ltonard Bassett, wife of a member'of the well-known timber firm. Quirke, of Pahiatua, was j married to Mi@s Susan Ellen, second daughter of Mr James Mullan. of Palmerston North. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Father Hickson, of Wellington, assisted by the Revs. Fathers Coßteilo and O'Bierne. The bride, who was given awav by her father, was attended by , her "sister, Miss Bessie Mullan, as bridesmaid, and Mr Edward Butler was best man.
