Messrs Levin and Company, Limited, report as follows regarding last Friday's sflle:—We offered "34 bales of wool, 2,500 skins, 450 hides and calfskins and a quantity of tallow and horsehair. There was a good attendance of buyers. Wool.—Mar- . ket quiet and prices for crutchings a farthing down. We quote: Crossbred fleece 5d toBJd; lambs 6d to 7d; superior crutchings 4Jd to sd; medium crutchings 4d to 4i r l; inferior crutchings 3d to|4d; pieces and belies 2d to 4d: locks IJd to 3d. Skins.—The sales in London were held on Thursday and disclosed an easier market, which was to some extent reflected upon the sale here to-day. We quote: Fine crossbred 7d to 7i;d crossbreds 6d to 6£d; lambs skins 6d to 6£d; dead skins 3d to 5Jd; dead hoggets 4d to 5Jd; short wools 4d to 4£d; dry pelts • to4£d; green skins 4s to 5s 7d; laimb skins, green 3s to 4a. 6d. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile report as follows.: —At our sale on Friday last there was a good attendance of buyers and active competition at prices in accord with London parity. Crutchmg are lower by id to Jd per lb. We have cable advice from London reporting a dej cline at Thursday's skin auctions ■ j there of id to $d per lb in clothing ; and cqarse and medium combing skins, and we have to report an equal drop here. Fine wooHed skins are selling at last sale rates. Hides were eagerly competed for. We quote: Wool: Crossbred medium 6d to 6£d; inferior 4d to 5Jd; crutchings, superior 5d to sid, good 4d to 4Jd, inferior and seedy IJd to 3Ad; locks and pieces 2£d to 4j|d. Sheepskins: Fine 6gd to 7d; coarse sgd to 6£d; lamb skins 5Jd to 7d; dead and faulty skins 4d to 6d; good pelts 4d to sd; damaged pelts £d to 3d; salted and damp skins 2a 6d to 6s, and up to 7d f»r extra heavy.
